Protein
microarrays are used to identify protein-protein interactions,
to identify the substrates of protein kinases, or to identify
the targets of biologically active small molecules. The
most common protein microarray is the antibody microarray,
where antibodies are spotted onto the protein chip and
are used as capture molecules to detect proteins from
cell lysate solutions.
We offer custom protein microarray assay development
services including experimental design, microarray printing,
sample conjucation, and data acquisition and analysis.
Our facility offers the two major classes of protein
microarray formats, forward phase arrays and reverse phase
arrays, depending on whether the targets of interest are
captured from solution phase or bound to the solid phase.
The type of assay and detection method of interest will
determine what surface chemistry is used to manufacture
the microarrays.
