The Vancouver Prostate Centre Microarray Facility Acknowledgment Policy

Our facility does not request co-authorship on studies using data generated on a fee-for-service basis. However, co-authorship may be appropriate if a significant intellectual contribution has been made by our scientists.

On the other hand, in order to monitor our scientific impact on the research community and to comply with the reporting requirements of our funding partners, we require that our customers acknowledge services performed by our facility in peer-reviewed publications and presentations at conferences and seminars.

For peer-reviewed publications, we are asking our customers to acknowledge our facility. We are asking the Genome Canada and Genome BC funded projects to name our facility "The Genome BC Microarray Platform". In all other cases please use the name "the Vancouver Prostate Centre Microarray Facility, Vancouver, Canada".

Acknowledgments should include one or both of the following:

- Materials and Methods. When the facility has provided a service, the following sentence should be incorporated. [Insert Service provided here] was performed by [insert appropriate facility name here] for their help with [insert help provided here].

- Acknowledgement section. When the facility personnel have been helpful with, for instance, experimental design or data analysis, the following sentence should be incorporated. “The authors wish to thank [insert name of facility personnel here] of the [insert appropriate facility name here] for their help with [insert help provided here]”

For conferences and seminars, we are asking our customers to include “the Vancouver Prostate Centre Microarray Facility” in the acknowledgement section.

We will be grateful to receive notification when customers publish papers acknowledging the Vancouver Prostate Centre Microarray Facility.
