Contact printing technology

Biorobotics TASII

The facility is equipped with 3 TASII microarray printers. The TAS arrayers use up to 64 quill pins and 48 solid pins, maintain a cold temperature storage chamber for up to 24 plates (96 or 384 well) at a time. Each TASII has the capacity to print up to 80 slides per run. The BioRobotics TAS system accurately maintains the humidity of the printing chamber and provides dust protection for high quality printing.

Genetix QArraymax

The QArrayMax has the capacity for 448 destination slides, a source plate stacker for automated delivery of up to 280 source plates, and a fully enclosed HEPA filtered system with separate control of humidity levels in the robot bed and stacker areas. Ideal for high density arrays.

 

Liquid Handling Systems

Tango

The Tango is used for automating liquid handling and sample processing such as consolidation from 96-well to 384-well plates.

 

Qiagen BioRobot 3000

The Biorobot 3000 series is used for purification of amplified products, consolidation and sample processing. Our facilty is equiped with 2 Biorobot 3000's, thus increasing the purification capacity to 16 x 96-well plates per day.

 

Scanning

 

Axon Instruments GenePix 4200AL

A four-color scanner with automatic slide handling for microarrays, tissue and cell arrays, and general fluorescence studies. Automatically loads and scans up to 36 slides, then analyzes the images and saves the results.

 

Perkin Elmer ScanArray Express

This easy-to-use microarray scanner has 5 lasers with excitation wavelengths of: 488nm to 694 nm. The excitation source includes appropriate beam shaping optics, an excitation filter, a shutter and beam alignment optics.

 

Applied Precision ArrayWoRx

The arrayWoRx™ instrument is a white-light system that combines a high-performance CCD camera, fluorescence optics, and a precision slide handling system to provide high-quality images with accurate and reproducible results.

 

Agilent scanner

The Agilent DNA microarray scanner is a 48-slide scanning system that can read any mix of 1 x 3” glass slide microarrays (both Agilent and non-Agilent).

 

 
 

DNA probes and RNA samples quality control

 

Agilent BioAnalyzer 2100

The Agilent 2100 bioanalyzer is a microfluidics-based platform for the analysis of DNA, RNA, proteins and cells. Results within 30 minutes, delivering automated, high quality digital data.

 

 

Caliper: Labchip90

Labchip 90 has the capacity to analyse a 96-well plate within an hour, reporting both sizing and concentration data. The Labchip 90 is an important tool in the quality assessment of the cDNA that gets printed.

 

 

 

Protein Arrays

ProteinArray workstation

The ProteinArray Workstation, is a fully automated system for processing multiple protein microarrays. It has the ability to analyze multiple proteins in parallel with very short processing times using very low volumes. The integrated TSA module enables automation of a series of novel protocols to boost sensitivity of protein array-based assays.

The SlideBoosterTM SB800 incubates tissue sections (IHC and FISH), DNA-microarrays and protein-microarrays.
